PRAISE FOR GRATITUDE: THE ART
OF BEING THANKFUL:
"This little gem of a book arrived before we left on vacation, so I took it along. It became our shared devotional and 'thought for the day' outlook…and colored our time away with gratitude. This unique discovery is one to treasure." 5 Star Review, Amazon verified purchase

Most of the time, we don't realize the many blessings we have in our daily lives. Just being able to walk on two feet, or see with our eyes is something we can take for granted. In Vickie Phelps' book Gratitude: the Art of Being Thankful, we are reminded of how even the little things in life, such as a stranger letting you go ahead of them at the grocery store, is something to be thankful for. Unfortunately, many of us focus on what is not going right in our lives, rather than how truly blessed we are. Even if we don't have good health, or a job we love, there are still reasons to be thankful. We can be grateful for the treatment/care to address these health issues, and to at least have a job to pay the bills. We can be thankful for the air-conditioning in our homes and the roof over our heads. We can be thankful for good friends, a beautiful day, food on our table, or just for being born in a free country. The list can go on and on! There is always something to be thankful for.
In Phelps' book, she also talks about her own personal struggles with her husband's poor heart health, as well as the reasons why she is still thankful even in the mist of these difficult times. What I loved most about this book was how it reminds us to not only have a heart of gratitude, but to also acknowledge that we have someone to be grateful to. In her pocket-sized book, Phelps provides several prayers and scriptures to help you give thanks to God even during the difficult times. We may not always get what we want in life, but we can be at peace knowing we are not alone and that God's blessings are all around us - even when we don't realize it. A heartfelt and uplifting book from start to finish!
